Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the dress code for the conference?
Let’s keep it simple: Dress code: Casual. No need for formalwear — feel comfortable and come as you are.
How do I get from the airport to downtown Oslo?
You can take the RE10, RE11 or R12 train from Oslo Airport (OSL) to Oslo S (central station). The last train departs at 00:24, and the first one runs again at 04:54.
Outside these times, consider using Taxi or Uber.
We recommend downloading the Ruter app to buy your public transport tickets easily.

Do I need to bring cash?
No. Cash is not needed or accepted at FBS2025. Oslo is a largely cash-free city — credit/debit cards and phone payments (like Apple Pay) are accepted almost everywhere, including public transport and small shops.
How do I get around Oslo using public transit?
Public Transit:
For those taking public transit, we strongly recommend downloading the Ruter app for planning your trip and purchasing your tickets. There is currently construction affecting the T-bane (metro) routes, which the app accounts for.
From the Oslo Gardermoen Airport (Oslo lufthavn in the Ruter app), there are 2 options for trains to the city center (Oslo S):
Option 1: The Flytoget Airport Express runs trains every 20 minutes between the airport and Oslo S. The trip takes about 22 minutes. Tickets (~252 NOK / ~21 EUR) must be purchased on the Flytoget app or at the airport kiosk and scanned at the gates. If Oslo S is not your final stop, you’ll need an additional Ruter ticket (~44 NOK / ~4 EUR) for local transport.
Option 2: Vy operates inter-city trains from the airport to Oslo S, with less frequent departures. Tickets (~129 NOK / ~11 EUR) can be purchased via the Vy or Ruter app. The Ruter app lets you combine your Vy train and metro travel in a single ticket using the journey planner to select the correct zones.

How do I get to the conference venue?
To travel to the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (also for Olympiatoppen Sportshotel):
Option 1: Take the T-bane (metro) to Sognsvann. The venue is about a 3-minute walk from Sognsvann station (end of line 5). Ensure the train displays “5 Sognsvann.” Due to ongoing construction, a transfer may be needed at Ullevål Stadion. Use the Ruter app for planning and tickets. Ticket checks are random. Inspectors often provide WiFi for ticket display.
Option 2: Take the 25 bus to Kongleveien. From Majorstuen, this is a good alternative due to construction at Majorstuen metro station. The bus ride ends with a ~10-minute walk. Ruter app tickets are valid here too — no need to tap in/out if you have a valid ticket in the app.
